Stig - Stay the Same II

Begins with screen totally black.

Silence.

In the middle of the screen a distorted footage of a preacher reciting Isaiah 5:20 "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..."

A deep red light gradually brightens around the preacher slowly revealing the shape of a person cast as a crimson silhouette. The preacher is like a moving print on a t-shirt. The red silhouette is Stig's and the preacher plays across his chest.

As the beat drops the preacher is replaced by a mushroom cloud and the red silhouette lights up to reveal Stig's facial features as he begins: "dead fish swim with the current...". His whole body and face are illuminated by footage playing on him - he is the projection screen.

It would end in the reverse with red giving way to the face of a man doing the outro scream. could even maybe overlay this onto Stig's face.

Visual references are very scarce for this idea - probably a good thing!!!

This Chris Cunningham is very close to how it would appear re: lighting, composition etc:

Begin at 50secs.

this one below around 1:50-2:20... not what i'm proposing for this vid but very cool for rave track:

we would run through the track 4 times from different angles... the video projected from front, both sides and rear and cut between each angle.

Stig would wear white or light-coloured clothes.

the footage projected would be a low-res collage of mean/sinister/apocalyptic/twisted images. get a lot of input from Stig for the images. probably include literal and metaphorical to lyrics. Even things such as a bear could be projected onto him to make him look like a grizzly bear stood on it's hind legs... there is no limit to what we could use... pool our creative minds and come up with a list of material.

coloured filters over footage would have a lava-lamp effect on his silhouette.

at various times focus footage on different parts of his body e.g. all would be blacked out, or plain coloured with the action on his face/body/arm etc.

white props could also be inserted into the scene etc etc. or other people e.g. Pete.

spark a spliff in pitch black so the toke lights up red cherry and then project footage onto the exhale smoke.

***

Luke and I could easily and quickly edit the footage together to be projected.
We could film it here at work using our projector.
The shoot could be boxed off in 2 hours.
Minimal post-production.
Minimal crew needed.
Zero costs $0.00
From green light the whole process could be nailed in 1 week.

these guys nailing some don 3D mapping shit but the effect isn't too dis-similar:
